Asia’s No. 7 Gilas Pilipinas Men will face Asia’s No. 20 Thailand in the gold medal match of the men’s basketball 5x5 event at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 8:00PM (PHL time) at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Gilas swept their Group A phase with wins over Malaysia and Vietnam to top the group, and defeated Indonesia 71–68 in the semifinal. Meanwhile, host Thailand is also undefeated, sweeping their three Group B elimination-round games by defeating Singapore and Myanmar with huge margins, recording a tough, close win over Indonesia, 71–67, and a convincing semifinal victory over Malaysia, 86-55.
