After a tight first quarter that ended 17–17, the team known as Gilas Pilipinas seized control in the second, outscoring Guam 23–12 to build momentum. From there, Gilas steadily pulled away, leading 40–29 at halftime and stretching the lead to 64–36 by the end of the third.
The two are expected to play the same major role when the Filipinos finish their home-and-away set against Guam.
